Glowing Stars

A yellow star  floating like a boat
and people wishing for stuff
like triangles on the side of the star.

  1. Hi Nisoni,

You know Nisoni, as soon as I finished reading your poem I thought of Maya Angelou, she is a famous contemporary poet. Here is a bit of her poem Still I Rise: "Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise.". Your poem reminds me of hers because in this poem she uses "like" in every paragraph. "Like" is a very useful tool in writing. Maybe you will look out for the word "like" when you read other books and poems.

  2. Hi Nisoni,

You have used similes well in this poem. Great stuff.
